Your Experience

We’re on a mission to impact—and even save—lives through oral health. We’ll help you become the best version of yourself, while helping you smile from the inside out. Because the mouth is the window to the rest of the body, our focus is on the whole person, but our care is individualized, because every person is different and dynamic.

It’s Never Too Late to Work on Your Health.

Beverly hadn’t seen a dentist in years, but she has no regrets for visiting the Whole Tooth. Dr. Genz got Beverly on a plan to improve her dental and overall health.

Beverly explains why she’s so happy she came to see Dr. Genz at the Whole Tooth.

Before Your First Visit

  1. You’ll discuss your goals, concerns, and treatment barriers with our Patient Experience Coordinator. You’ll also learn about our approach and philosophy.

  2. You’ll schedule your New Patient Experience.

  3. We’ll send you a link to secure your appointment reservation and complete your new patient forms. We request these steps are completed within 48 hours of scheduling your appointment.

  4. Plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled reservation to get comfortable and enjoy a cup of custom blended tea in our aromatherapy lounge.

During Your First Visit

We ask a LOT of questions, and we gather a LOT of information. You are our VIP!

  1. This is your time to shine: We’ll capture photos of you and your mouth and take x-rays of your teeth, jaw & supporting structures. We’ll perform a head & neck exam, oral cancer screening, and of course, examine your teeth & gums. We’ll even take some measurements. We may also recommend some salivary or blood testing for pathogens (bad bugs), DNA biomarkers or sensitivity to dental materials.

  2. In for an airway/breathing screening? We’ll take some photos, examine hard and soft tissues, evaluate your muscle function, and image your airway with a 3D CBCT Scan. We may recommend a sleep study (at home, or in-lab), some high resolution pulse oximetry, or a visit with our speciality partners, such as an ENT, Myofunctional Therapist or Nutritionist.

  3. Then, you return home. We may ask you to keep a food journal or complete some additional forms, do additional testing, or visit with a provider with whom we collaborate.

  4. We then process and distill all of our gathered information to create a picture of your oral and systemic health. We use this to identify areas of high and low risk, and we create strategies to reduce those risks. This can include restorative treatment, biofilm and pH management, nutritional counseling, breath work, prescribed self care, and more. We will review our findings with you at a 30-minute Discovery Visit with Dr. Genz.

During Your Discovery Visit

Together, we’ll review the results of your first visit.

You decide whether you want to pursue the optimal whole health approach, or if you’d prefer a traditional route.

Then, we develop a treatment guide to fulfilling your goals, complete with a financial estimate and some financing options.

Whichever path you choose, and wherever you are on your journey to health, we are here to support and guide you!

During Your Treatment Visits

From plush blankets to organic lip balms, calming essential oils, and special numbing techniques, your comfort and ease in our chair is our priority.

Be prepared for silly tooth puns and some good humored laughter during your visit—it’s not work when we’re having fun! If it’s serenity you seek, just let us know, and we’ll provide you with noise cancelling headphones and a cooling eye pillow instead. You can even try a NuCalm session to help relax and recharge during your treatment. Rest assured that here at the Whole Tooth, you’re in gentle, capable hands, well accustomed to soothing even the most anxious of patients.
